We're in tireless pursuit of raising the bar in construction by practicing our craft with excellence and hospitality. That starts with putting the people who do the work first.

Privacy pods

We pioneered the privacy pod: a dedicated, comfortable space on-site that supports someone's well-being in the middle of a workday. It's a small space with a large purpose. By bringing wellness spaces onto job sites, we're working to make mental health a standard priority on every job site.

Scaffolding over ladders

On our ground-up and industrial projects, we don't rely on extension ladders. As a standard, we erect scaffolding stair towers instead, because safety shouldn't be a trade-off for efficiency. It's a choice that protects our team and sets an example for how the work can be done.

Equal time off, no exceptions

Our field and office teams are treated the same when it comes to time off. That includes paid federal holidays for our entire team, including our union members. Everyone who builds with us deserves to be honored the same way.

Investing in the future of construction professionals

In recent years, construction has had too few clear pathways in. Many people never learn about the opportunities for a fulfilling, rewarding career in this industry, simply because no one showed them the way.

Gardner's initiative, Project Seedling, is how we're changing that. We're committed to using our resources and influence to grow the skilled workforce within construction, starting with the people closest to us. We hire zero-hour apprentices and sponsor them through the union, often in partnership with programs like Lake Street Works, giving people a real way into a skilled trade and a career.
